Well I commonly get panic attacks when school starts.I can’t say that its physically induced by any sort of problem but it’s more about the FEAR of getting the actual panic attack. Reading a little newspaper and carrying around a bottle of water works. It’s still hard to get over the initial attack as soon as i roll out of bed. Any advice? and yes, this hits instantaneously.
If you have already been cleared by a physician (regarding possible physical heart problems), then your reaction is very likely due to the rebound effect of commng off of too much GABA (the relaxing neurotransmitter in alcohol). Quit drinking so much. Teach your friends how to have fun without alcohol!

hey i get panic attacks the day after drinking alcohol am i bringing these on myself just by thinking about them? or am i actually getting real pysical sensations? they sure feel real like shooting pains in my heart not a nice feeling any advise would really be appreciated.
Hyperventilation is a big part of what sustains panic once it hits. Practice breathing in to a count of seven seconds and out to a count of seven seconds when you are relaxed. Practice once per day for five minutes. Then it will be easier to force yourself to slowly breath when panic sets in with hyperventilation.

my GP has recomended sertraline for my panic attacks, but I still hyperventalate. I cant seem to control it. mayb its that I dont know how to breathe properly or that I’m thinking about the way I breathe too much. any ideas?
